Your Guide to an Apollo and Zapier Integration

How to Connect Apollo to your Zapier Account

To connect Apollo with Zapier, you’ll need to log in to the Zapier app and go to your My Apps page. Click Add Connection.

Next, search for and select the Apollo app connection:

On the following page, you will need to enter your Apollo account’s API key (found here), provide a name for the connection, and then click Yes, Continue:

If your authentication with your Apollo account is successful, you will see “New connection added”. Now you’re ready to create Zaps for your Apollo account!

How to Create a Zap

Let’s go over exactly how to create an Apollo Zap to help you establish a more automated workflow! 

In this example Zap, we will show you how to create a Zap that automatically creates new contacts in Apollo whenever an email is starred in Gmail.

1. To get started, click the Make a Zap button from your Zapier dashboard:

2. Select the app that you want to be your trigger app (e.g. Gmail):

3. Now choose the trigger event. Because we want to create new records in Apollo when an email is starred in Gmail, we will select the “New Starred Email” trigger. Choose the Gmail account you want to sync and click Continue.

4. Next, Zapier will conduct a test trigger. In this example, a successfully tested trigger should pull up a recently starred email from the linked Gmail inbox:

5. Now, it’s time to select the action you want the Zap to take in Apollo. Search for and select Apollo as the Action app, and choose the event you want to happen. In this case, we are choosing “Create a Contact”:

6. After selecting the Apollo account you wish to sync, you will need to select Gmail fields that correspond to the required Apollo fields. This will allow us to create contacts in Apollo with the exact same information that Gmail has. Click Continue when you finish: 

7. Lastly, click Test & Continue to ensure you have the Zap set up correctly. After it’s successful, select Turn on Zap, to get started with your new automated action:
